Dragonball Evolution Fan Art

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

Believe it or not, but fan art for the live action Dragonball movie exists out there. I collected a few pieces of art that I thought was pretty well done. You can check those out below. If you wish to have your own Dragon Ball movie/anime fan work displayed on DB Legends, send it on to Avenged7x420@gmail.com and maybe it will be showcased in our soon to come fan section.

Dragonball Evolution AMV

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

The website known as Ginga Giri Giri (originally Vegeta Insane!!!) has returned online (as 3Gkai). This site has been known for really good DBZ AMVs in the past. And soon after 3GKai relaunched, they released a well done AMV dedicated to Dragonball Evolution. This music video basically compares the anime to the live action film and if I do say so myself, makes it seem like the film was very accurate to the anime. Watch it yourself below.

Akira Toriyama’s First Impression on Live Action Dragon Ball

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

DBZ Goku GohanIn 2002 Akira Toriyama told the Hollywood Reporter a bit on writing Dragon Ball and also Hollywood adaptations of comics/manga.

“I have always drawn my manga with the desire to create something unique to comics, something that can only be expressed in the form of comics. I felt that if I didn’t do so, the reason for the existence of my comics will become weak. But recent movies have surprised us by entering such territory that used to belong only to comics with wonderful technology and wisdom.”

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Dragon Ball ZOld IGN reports stated several interesting and promising rumors for the live action Dragon Ball movie. These were all reported back in 2003 and will now be included in this new edition of our classic news articles.

The first report was that the film was initially planned to be four movies. Not only that but each movie was supposed to be over 3 hours long (something I originally expected to be done when it came to a live action DB movie) Here’s an excerpt from IGN.

All They Need is Seven

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Dragon Ball Z Movie PosterBack in 2002, when 20th Century FOX announced that a live action Dragon Ball Z movie would soon be in production, a lot of fan material meant to promote the film surfaced on the internet. Many of this material usually used the quote “All They Need is Seven” in one way or another. The poster shown to the right is where that originated, and that certain piece even showed up in an article at IGN saying it could actually possibly be the work of FOX. They question whether or not they are already promoting the DBZ movie.

Here is an excerpt from IGN…

Live Action Trunks as a Super Saiyan

Sketch drawn by Rider4Z

With the possibility of several sequels to the live action film Dragonball Evolution, many fans speculate certain Dragon Ball aspects brought to life. One of which being, what would and should a live action Super Saiyan look like? Many say long hair that is literally on fire would do just fine, while others want to stick to the original as much as possible and keep it all “gold”. What would you personally like to see on the big screen? Post your ideas in the comments, and feel free to provide drawings/renderings as well.

The picture to the right was drawn by DeviantArt member Rider4z. And I must say this piece is just amazing. This would be my ideal style for a live action Super Saiyan.
