The new Nintendo DS game entitled, “Dragonball – Origins”, has officially released today in Japan. The set release date in North America is November 4th. You can preorder the game here. Read below for a short game description.
Dragon Ball: Origins follows Goku and his clever sidekick Bulma as they travel the world overcoming enemies and obstacles to collect the 7 Dragon Balls. In the shoes of Goku, the player must protect Bulma from incoming enemy attacks using special skills, such as fighting with his power pole, or unleashing a kamehameha. Combined with Bulma’s ability to invent machines and weapons, the intrepid pair make a formidable team able to defeat even the strongest enemies or trickiest of obstacles.
The innovative controls mean the player uses only the touch pad to control Goku. Players must draw lines or shapes to direct the character and control the action by tapping on the screen, for example a double tap on Goku followed by tapping on the Ka-me-ha-me-ha letters unleashes his devastating signature move.
Amazon is now listing Dragonball Z season 7 remasterd and uncut available for preorder. It releases November 11th 2008. Season 7 contains the Great Saiyaman and World Tourament sagas. Read the full description below.
Seven years of peace have passed since the defeat of the monstrous Cell, and the Z-Fighters have enjoyed a return to normal life. Goku has eagerly continued his training in Other World, Krillin has gotten married, and Gohan has renewed his scholarly pursuits while attempting to navigate the pitfalls of high school. Two fresh new Saiyan faces have also appeared on the scene—Goku’s son Goten, and Vegeta’s son Trunks!
Now, the time has come for the Z-Fighters to reunite, as the new World Martial Arts Tournament is set to begin. The greatest warriors on Earth have come together for their chance to capture the title of the reigning champion, Mr. Satan—but behind the scenes, sinister forces are at work. An evil eye watches the competitors’ every move, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. The action grows fierce on the tournament floor, but for the Z-Fighters, the real fight is only just beginning!
I suggest purchasing and checking out seasons 1-6 if you have yet to do so. The remasterd uncut releases includes original japanese audio (with the option of enabling Bruce Faulconer’s work as well), uncut and totally original episodes.
Some new images from the upcoming Dragonball Z special (Son Goku and his friends return!) has been leaked. And along with these new images, a new character has been revealed. This character is known as Aka (until a better translation releases) and is more than likely another new villain. These pictures seem to be Akira’s beta art concepts. View the pictures below.
According to Weekly Jump, the new Dragonball Z anime special (beta title-Yo! Son Goku and his friends return!) will premiere during the start of the tour on September 21st. It is Weekly Jump’s 40th anniversary and the anime tour will make a route of 10 different locations in Japan.
The DBZ anime special is said to set exactly after the death of Kid Buu. It will be Akira’s view on what should occur after the events of Dragonball Z aside from Dragonball GT. And just as a reminder, the new characters have been revealed. The new Saiyan will be known as Table.

From the latest VJ scan, new information concerning the upcoming Dragonball anime short (entitled Yo! Son Goku and his friends return!) has been revealed. We also get this new image.
Table and Avo & Cado, opposing enemies!
You can tell that Table is a Saiyan from his tail. He’s similar to a certain person in facial features, but who…!? Also, Abo and Kado, in pursuit of Table, arrive on Earth!!
So, Table (vegeTABLE…VEGETAble) is the new Saiyan. And Avo and Cado are the new henchman. Atleast Akira Toriyama stayed true to his naming of characters.
Otakon is another anime/manga convention, and guess what will be getting its own panel? Dragonball! The panel is called “Ultimate Dragonball Panel” and will be displayed later tonight (August 9th) at 7:00pm. Stay tuned for more movie and anime news/media.
Below is the full description for the Dragonball panel.
Get ready for an all-inclusive, all-exclusive, all-fandom based panel focused around Akira Toriyama’s legendary series, Dragon Ball. Come join us for discussion on upcoming releases, as well as nostalgia over the series that made most of our childhoods so special. With special treats such as a (slightly improvised) musical performance that manages to explain all three series in under three minutes, every moment of this panel will prove to be a treat to fans of all ages.
Discussion on upcoming releases…Comic Con brought us absolutely nothing, but it seems this convention will in fact provide news. My guess…movie teaser trailer and a sneak peak on the new Dragonball special.
Anyone who is attending this convention will also get the treat to watch the Bardock/Trunks specials and a double feature of Broly. And not to mention an exclusive Q&A with FUNimation.
Join representatives from FUNimation as they reveal upcoming projects, titles, and secrets at this not-to-be-missed industry panel!
And don’t forget that DragonCon begins in 20 days (August 29th)! James Marsters, who plays the role of Piccolo in the Dragonball film, is a confirmed guest. A full event schedule for DragonCon will be available August 15th.
A high quality version of the promo poster for the new upcoming Dragonball Z anime special has been leaked. If you look closely you will see a few new characters, one of them in Saiyan armor.

Again there is confirmation that Akira Toriyama is behind the new Dragonball Z short.
Accoring to Daizenshuu, the upcoming Dragonball special will be entitled…”Ossu! Kaette Kita Son Gokû to Nakama-tachi!!” (Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!, with “Ossu!)”. Although I think it may just be an early introduction of the special…
We also now know that there will be new enemies! We will keep you posted on anything else new concering this new Dragonball Z animated short.
A few months back, it was said a new DB anime special was in the works. Below is the first promotional material released. And yes, this was created by Akira Toriyama himself.
This years Anime Expo is finally among us. Although I’m placing my bets on any Dragonball related news will surface during Comic Con on July 23rd. But this event is still a great place for all anime fans to gather up and cosplay together. If any of you guys have any Dragonball related cosplay photos of you and your friends, feel free to email us them and we will glady post them here. Or better yet, just sign up in our forums and discuss it all there!
However if any Dragonball news does happen to just popup at this expo, we will keep you posted. (maybe we will see something concerning the supposed new Dragonball special that is in the making?)
For those that have not yet seen this commercial, it is worth a look. This is the commercial for the brand new Dragonball video game entitled Burst Limit.
