FOX Still Owns Dragonball, No Plans For Sequel or Reboot

After finally receiving replies via my contacts from 20th Century FOX, I got word that they do in fact still own the rights to the Dragon Ball series but currently have no plans on creating a sequel to Dragonball Evolution, let alone a reboot to the movie. However, I did not receive any more information on whether or not they plan on selling the rights or if they are just waiting for their license to expire. Not to mention the entire cast from DBE are very busy at the moment if they eventually decide to create a sequel. The cast will continue to be busy in the immediate future, but that is not to say an entirely new cast and crew will be hired.

Aside from the fact that there are zero plans for a future movie at the moment, they still own the rights to create live action DragonBall movies. This is no surprise as FOX acquired the rights to the series back in 2002 and decided to wait until 2007 to begin production on Dragonball Evolution. Do you see them trying again sometime in the near future? Or would you prefer if they handed the rights to another company? Discuss!

As this comes at no surprise, at least we have the upcoming official DragonBall Z animated movie to look forward to in 2013!

Give the rights to someone new like WB, universal or summit and have it directes or produced by the people who made Never Back Down.

yeah DBZ would have to bee at least 4 movies long (200 Mio Budget each)…. and i think another company would see the potential of DB better than stupid FOX …. (Marvel / WB /NewLine) probably they are waiting for the ANIME MOVIE to come out and see how it does … they are co puplisher in the US and other countries outside of Japan !!! …. dont like that though …..I hope they sell the rights to WB or the others ….. or to me :) ))

I F***ing despise FOX…It seems like they just got the word that DBZ was popular and nothing else about the product other than the fact they could make a huge cash in on it. They had to hurry up and crap out a movie out of their butt because of the Writers Guild of 2007 and this movie was a slap in the face to all DB fans. I bet they never really had future plans for this product to begin with as they only wanted to buy it to prevent others from taking it in the past than buy their time until 2009 which took about 7 f***ing years (AHOLES! >:( ). This greedy SOB of a corporation needs to F***K off RIGHT NOW and give the rights to someone who actually has appreciation for the product other than just money.
