The official Shonen Jump and TOEi Animation websites have revealed the big surprise about this new DragonBall Z movie. The countdown timer has ended and it now links to a new website. Dragonball2013.com now reveals this new movie with some fresh material. This DragonBall Z movie will indeed release in Japan on March 30th 2013 and when new details are revealed from this website, we will make them here so stay tuned! In the mean time, hit the jump to check out some fresh character designs!

Update 2: Kanzenshuu has translated the website and have revealed that the following companies are involved with the film in someway: Toei Animation, Shueisha, Bird Studio, Fuji TV, Bandai Namco Games and Fox International Japan.

Update 1: The official site list a new article telling fans to get the latest issue of Shonen Jump for a quote from Akira Toriyama. Here is a rough translation of said quote.

It’s rare, or I should say, it’s the first time, that I’ve been deeply involved with the animation from the scriptwriting stage. As it had been a while, there was a lot I’d forgotten, but as expected of the creator of the original work, I was soon able to get back into the tempo of things, at least.
For this film, while leaving the atmosphere of the original intact, we’ve added just a little bit of modern flavor, so I think it will be an enjoyable piece of entertainment, just like old times.

By rough translation you mean taken straight off of Kanzenshuu and then posted with no credit being given to the gifted translators responsible for it? Nice.

I hope you realize not everyone gets credited and I source when I feel the need to. But huh I did mention them so I hope you’re able to read next time.

How can anyone waste time with this shit when we have Bleach or Naruto unless you are an idiot.

  • Lord Dio

Oh and If Toriyama is involved on this movie you can count with a big pile of garbage.
Apart from being a pathetic penciler the man has no idea about what is a plot.

That dumbass doesn’t even know the meaning of the word creative writing.
He can be everything, but he ain’t a writer.

If you hate DBZ so much, may I ask why are you on a DBZ website?

  • CronoA7X

Who honestly thinks Naurto is better than DBZ? xD

Congrats for the lovely work, it’s the first official Toriyama statement I read about the movie, and also a great text to start with. Counting the days ’til it comes out =D
