A Batch of New DBZ Saiyan Saga Photos

Although they have not released these pictures officially, I was able to snag several revealing photos of the upcoming live action DragonBall Z movie project, Saiyan Saga. Check them out below, and yes you will find photos of the fight between Goku and Vegeta!

*Vegeta photo taken down for the time being due to request. The crew has stated that the costumes being worn are only for motion tracking to be edited later. The final result of Vegeta’s armor will be far more impressive that what was shown.*

    Get on AIM Crono

  • CronoA7X

    Why?

  • Chuchoman

What an awful production. I don’t know how these guys call themselves professionals. The costumes look cheap, as if made by cheap fabrics. Even somes cosplay look better. Goku looks like a bum. Vegeta is just awfull and extremely cheap. Tien has like a piece of paper glued to his forehead and a string of toilet paper on his chest. Very, very amateur production, not even close to the production value of Street Fighter Legacy (another fan made short).

  • CronoA7X

Exactly, it’s fan made, shouldn’t be so picky. Plus these are set photos with zero editing and no effects.

  • Chuchoman

Then they shouldn’t advertise it as a professional production. They should say we are just a couple of fans doing the best we can do.

  • CronoA7X

    They have stated this. >.>

I personally didn’t expect much from this to begin with.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_J5LNCEALWX6J7TNXSJYCBKSMSU Chris

you guys shouldn’t be so harsh on them. they’re not professionals and they done the best they can, with the budget that was given . if they had miillions of dollars to use, i guarantee u, this would look alot better. we should all thank them for doing this and be grateful that they’re doing this for us. yes things could have been better, but they’ve done the best they can and we shouldn’t be overly picky about this  :)

  • Troy

Chuchoman for one your an idiot the guys are doing there best and imo they are doing a good job they dont have the resources big companies have.

  • K&K Productions

    Hi guys

Hary here from K&K Productions. These are photos that have been leaked and should not have been posted. They will be removed soon.

Obviously these shots were taken during production and do not represent a finished product. Vegeta’s armour will be changed in post and obviously Tiens third eye will also be added with effects. What you see in the photos is just a marker to use for motion tracking.

As for questioning our professionalism Chuchomen…These shots were taken at Pinewood studios (one of the biggest film studios in the world) and we had a budget of just £17,000 to make costumes, pay for locations, studio time, hotels, travel, food for a cast of crew of 20. We really had to make that money stretch.

We think people will be happy with the end product, so please dont judge the project on some leaked photos.

    Thanks,

    Harry

  • CronoA7X

Im not removing them? One of your photo companies posted these, so…

  • CronoA7X

BTW don’t threaten us lol…You let these leak, one of your very own companies posted these along with dozens of set locations. Not like this project is copyrighted, especially seeing how you might get action taken towards you for making it. I say good luck with Toei Animation not coming after you.

  • Chuchoman

So anyone who expresses a different opinion is called an idiot?

Besides, big companies usually spend a lot of money and resources to pay the good and talented people. When you got the talent and expertise, the rest becomes easier to obtain.

  • Chuchoman

Got it, thanks for clarifying the post-production details. Luck on making a CGI costume for Vegeta.

It seems you have spended very little on the costumes. It only takes a little creativity to design a realistic version of the anime clothing, and then a few hundreds to actually make them.

Since Update 1 I was very eager to this project, and mostly where in your website it says; “…the high quality costumes that will really make the difference when it comes to seeing your favourite DBZ characters in Live action”. I really wondered how the DBZ characters would look in a live action production.

Seeing the costumes and make up of Piccolo, Yamcha, Raditz, Nappa and Goku it brings disappoinment to my illusion :(

  • CronoA7X

But hey if you guys asked us privately to remove them, out of respect to this project we would have.

  • ME

get your fucking ass on AIM stop disconnecting before i can reply

  • K&K Productions

    Hi Crono.

We were no threating you in the slightest. Aplogoies if that is what you thought. I did actually send you a private message. It’s just that these photos should not have been posted by the guys that did.

We love your site and really appreciate the support you have been giving us.

    Harry

  • Troy

You guys are doing a great job this chuch guy is a moron

  • CronoA7X

Agreed that they’re doing a good job, but no need to call anyone anything.

  • annoyed at this prick

why you acting liek a douche bag. you twat just delete them. obviously they were realeased without their consent. Grow up

  • CronoA7X

Maybe you should take your own advice and grow up.

  • CronoA7X

Plus maybe you should learn how to read.

Costumes look fine and I’m really excited to see the final product. I can only assume that some of the people posting here dont realize that theres a lot of editing and reworking that is done on movies. This is a fan production, so be happy that we get to see dbz in a different live-action format. If you are not happy with the product, then dont watch it. I for one am excited to see how the final product will turn out.

  • Troy

chuchoman no, really your just the idiot first of all you attack the people working there butts off with very little money to bring a good live action dbz trailer. These guys actually care about what the fans want unlike fox a few years ago. You talk all this stuff but I don’t see you making movies instead your on here spewing your garbage.

  • Vegeta

Is there any place to see a trailer?!?

  • the legendary super saiyan

looks crappy (again) all other films like iron man spiderman hulk were good movies why cant they make DBZ like that

  • Name

Hey, if anything- I think we can all agree that this production is going to be better than “Evolution”. =)

    Thanks K&K

  • Kaypain

When and where was it stated that it was Professional Multi-Million dollar production idiot?

  • Kaypain

Unfortunately to your statement, this isn’t a BIG company, are you that stupid, or did you expect K&K Production to be some big ass company with millions of dollars. No they are a small company, fans of show just like us, they didn’t even pay for this project, the fans did, if you was a smart as you pretend to be, you’ll see that. Unless you got millions of dollars, a crew, and camera work to make your own movie and do better don’t attack them or the fans who participate in this projects. It seems you’re lost in your whole delusion that this was a Multi Million Project, no idiot, it’s a fan-based project using a small budget just to give us fans a little something to reconcile from that disastrous Dragonball Evolution, they had millions of dollars and they still failed, these guys had .003% of that and their costumes are more faithful then DB:E ever attempted.

  • Kaypain

Because this isn’t a Multi-Million Dollar Feature Length Film like those movies you idiot, this a low budget fan based project making a 5-min trailer…. Jesus how can people be so naive?

  • Chuchoman

I’m just criticizing and expressing my point. There is no blame in doing that, right? That is what the comments section are for. Unlike the guys from K&K Productions who deletes comments they don’t like, I believe in this page everyone is entitled to their own opinion and judgement.

Fine, they are doing everything they can. However, the aspect I’m criticizing is how the advertise their project as something professional that would blow up our minds. From the pics they have released and the recent posters I can only see amateur results, not even indie type quality. Budget is not really an excuse. There have been good effects low-budget movies. When you got the production team working for free, the rest comes easier to obtain.

I don’t get why you bring up Fox to the discussion. Fox had their chance, they blew it, and no one is defending them.

You don’t see me making movies due to the fact that I don’t have the expertise nor the desire. I’m merely expressing my opinion.

  • CronoA7X

Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion, it’s the point of discussion.

  • Chuchoman

I never stated that K&K Productions was a big millionaire company. I meant that big companies uses the budget resource to stand up their quality by paying high skillful and talented crew. Budget is not an excuse to deliver something of quality. When you got the skills for free, you don’t need a giant budget.

K&K Productions claimed themselves as professionals. I always understood that they have a small company and a limited budget. However, they stated they will deliver a high-end trailer that would blow up our minds in awesomeness. All I’m seeing through the pics and posters they have released is amateur type quality, not even indie close.
They have spend most of the budget on the location and filming studio, but have left very little to the costume and make-up designing.

I don’t get why you bring up Dragon Ball Evolution to the discussion. It was an awful adaptation. I don’t considered as something Dragon Ball related anymore. Just to because the previous DBE film was trash it does not mean this project could result any different.

I’m merely expressing my opinion. Critics does not need to work on the field to know what they like or not.

  • Kaypain

So you’re telling me that budget means nothing to the quality of the costumes and/or make up. Ok got cha….

K&K Productions claimed themselves as Professional Filmmakers. Not Costume Designers, or Make Up Artists. I watched their Demo Reel, looked pretty Professional to me. But thats not the point, the point is you’re criticizing them for how they used their budget when you clearly are so naive to how filmmaking works.

“They have spend most of the budget on the location and filming studio, but have left very little to the costume and make-up designing.”

Do you know how much that costs? Do you have any idea? So I guess they should spend most of the budget on the costumes and make up, and shoot the short in their backyard? They got to feed the actors, provide room and shelter, as well as the crew, they got to get the actors to the location. These actors are mostly working for free, so you enlighten please how they should budget their money.

Now I understand the criticism of the posters. For a Graphic Designer’s perspective like me it’s too dark and doesn’t look up to par. But thats the poster, I’ve seen tons of great filmmaking with terrible posters. And these most of these are set photos, unedited, shoot raw. Reminds me of the 300 set photos, they looked laughably terrible, but in the film looked amazing.

And DBE should be brought up, it’s a great example to compare and contrast on what not to do in a Dragonball Adaptation.
