Sorry folks, but it would appear DragonBall Z will in fact not return to Toonami this time around. With DragonBall Z Kai and GT airing on Nicktoons and DBZ Kai airing on the CW, former Toonami producer has stated that DBZ won’t return due to the competition, here’s an exact quote from his twitter account.
“the rights to those shows are owned by our competition or are out of our price range.”
So, although some DBZ episodes were aired on Adult Swim on April 1st this year, the series will not make a return anytime soon. If you are curious about what aired this past weekend on Toonami, here was the lineup.
