Dragonball Evolution Sequel Still Planned, or Not

At a recent convention that James Marsters (Lord Piccolo) attended, he was asked if he would return for a Dragonball Evolution movie sequel. He simply responded yes and that there is still a high chance a sequel could happen.

If 20th Century FOX goes ahead and films a second Dragonball movie, would you return to keep your role as Piccolo?
James Marsters: Yes. They initially planned a trilogy for two more Dragonball movies to be made. I am still under contract for two more films and nothing has been cancelled. Although Dragonball Evolution did not exactly exceed fans nor the box office expectations, it still made a profit. It is highly possible that a sequel to Dragonball will begin very shortly, as everyone knows, we still want to provide DBZ as there is so much story to be told. I have been told in the past that a sequel was in fact green lit, and that fact has yet to change. I just hope Dragonball 2 will please fans as I will be very anxious to become part of it.

We’ll examine this interview more and confirm if it is legit or not. Nonetheless, would you prefer a sequel?

Update : I have checked through all the latest interviews/press releases/conventions he attended, and such a question was never asked. It is safe to say this interview is fake.

    wicked news
I hope they dont fuck it up and clean the story up a lot more if the sequel is made

Yeah, they already disappointed a lot of fans before, lets just hope they dont make the same mistake twice. Then again, if it truly is a direct sequel, then it will be the same cast, hence James marsters,

  • Batman

We better get a proper db movie, nevermind whether it’s a sequel… But I’m really surprised that dbe profited. Says something about the power of the brand name. Maybe there will be a direct to dvd thingy. Chatwin should come back and do goku again, he still looks like him even on shameless and he’s almost 30, goddam good genes…

I got really excited then I realized this comes from the mouth of James Marsters. Cool guy but he doesn’t always give accurate accounts. I wouldn’t mind a reboot either. After all, we’ll be seeing some for Spider-Man and Superman. I believe a sequel can fix the story of DBE though.

Exactly, and thats even if this interview is legit.

Fake, he was never asked this question. He mentions Dragonball a bit here and there, but never the future of a sequel.

Oh and to the ComicBookMovie user (SSJGiancarlo), you’re not sourcing articles you directly stripped from this site. I suggest you do so.

Theres little doubt that DBE would be a disappointment when it came out. I was really excited for it but I would very rarely see any previews for it. When I did it was randomly on Nickelodeon at like 2am, and yes I realize I just said I was watching Nickelodeon at 2am but old episodes of Rocko’s Modern Life, but thats besides the point. DBE was rated PG?! This movie franchise cant be directed towards little kids and has to have an edge to it. Hopefully the future movie will have the same cast since it doesnt seem likely of a reboot, but try to take the franchise in a much more intense direction.

u would figure that the movie would be like the cartoon, i’m a huge DBZ and DBGT fan and damn the technology we have these folk should make this movie the best movie ever made, i mean yea there startin from the very beginning with the king piccalo saga but the show gets alot better, i mean hell if they wanted they could but like 2 sagas together in one movie. Look how long the harry potter movies are like 2 hours or more long shit make these movies that long 2. This cartoon would make a great movie if u people would do it right. Cuz i mean damn Dragon Ball Z is like the best action packed and funny show ive ever watch.

  • LegendarySSJ3

If they have a good script, director, and Krillin Everything should work out fine. And Tien and Chaotzu or better known as THE POKEMON, Good luck next time Nappa, (I wonder if IT can evolve…)

  • Marcosjohnson

  • Neo05_theone

hell no. no sequel remake the first one. the kamehameha was shitty. goku punches through piccolo not knocks him out. make the movie 4 hours and include the creator of the whole series akira toriyama and start from when goku was a child not a teen when he meets bulma then continue you on the the saiyan’s attack

  • Kurosakiuzu

No way man, I prefer they remake that crap. If they wanted to make a live action movie then follow the way it is in the manga but could make it short abbreviated in the movie to pick up the pace for a sequel and all.
