Dragonball Evolution Sequel “Reborn” Currently Filming in Mexico?

Ok, before we get any kind of confirmation from 20th Century FOX themselves stating that filming for this sequel has begun, take this with a very small grain of salt. Anyways reports from various Mexican Dragon Ball blogs are suggesting that filming either has begun or is about to begin for Dragonball Reborn. Here is that report.

From 01.06 on Tuesday began filming in the city of Durango, Mexico, filming for the next movie Dragon Ball, DB reborn which would be the continuation of Dragon Ball Evolution. This has caused cuts in the streets and remodeling in several places in the town. Many viewers have come to watch the recordings. This film is dated mid-2011.

Well will update everyone once we receive any kind of information ourselves on this.

    Hmm…seems kind of…strange? I don’t know, I just feel like this is just really random haha Either way, I’m excited to hear that there’s a chance it’s being pursued. I’m just praying it’s a lot better than it’s predecessor. I’m also hoping that, with the release of Kai on N-Toons, the sequel will have a lot more exposure/followers than the first one.

    ok i contact the guy of hoycinéma movieland about the news and he said that:

    It is totally false, in Durango other movies have been filmed,
    but it has nothing to do with Dragonball, the movie was filmed
    earlier was “Suave Patria” and is currently filming “Cristiada”
    with Andy Garcia. Nestor Carbonell (Lost) Eduardo Verastegui,
    Catalina Sandino and Eva Longoria

    Fuck Movieland. I would not trust a word from that site. Either way, I’m going by the fact that none of the main actors of Evolution have mentioned this and are currently busy with other projects.

    Movieland was the place to leak the very first set photos of Evolution but they made up some bullshit story sometime after, I don’t remember what exactly it was. But this doesn’t really seem likely at all. There should have been some sort of announcement. If it is true is definitely going straight to DVD.

    It’s funny you mention that. I have a source that tells me Nicktoons wants the rights to Dragonball to do a movie. This is not bs, but it’s also not a guarantee. Things have to fall in place before this happens.

    Not likely, dude. Film rights have nothing at all to do with the series rights. If that were so, the 4Kids would have the right to make one as well.

    Plus if Nick, which would thus be Viacom, which would thus be Paramount, got the film rights, then that’d mean Fox couldn’t be filming this sequel either way.

    Actually, the irony of Kai being a success really speaks volumes about one particular thing: people really WOULD rather re-watch the exact same thing over again than see DBE.

    I’m not trollin’ here, I’m just sayin’. Not to mention it shows more now than ever how waaaaay off-base they were with the movie.

    Okay, just for the record, we DO have confirmation that Cristada is filming in Durango, and it IS a period drama set in 1926, so the remoediling makes more sense… I dunno, I just don’t see it. :-/

    By the way, here’s a message to everyone.

    I might one of two things in the near future. Sell this place and just focus on my Zelda fan site or transform it into a general DB fan site.There isn’t much news going on, everyone already knows about Kai. Covering video games is very boring. And I am pretty sure the sequel to Evolution will not happen in this century. If FOX does decide to continue with it, or a reboot is made then I will cover it all. But in the mean time, nothing is happening.

    And no, Robert pattison or wtvr is not going to play Vegeta. That was an april fools joke from like 2008-09 by both DBTheMovie and DBMB. Pretty sad some people still seem to believe it.

    They would be purchasing the rights from Fox. Regardless who would want to see this sequel happen anyway? The first one was horrible, and setting all fan-biased opinions aside it’s still one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t see the sequel even if somebody paid for my ticket. I’m even more surprised people liked DB:E and are anxiously waiting to hear more about Reborn. I for one hope this project, if there is one of course, doesn’t happen.

    Ok this movie could go either way, but after this I think a recast is due.

    The movie should be like Transformers – funny where needed, epic, and awesome. also logical, like everything has a purpose, stuff doesnt just happen like in transformers 2 (big robots – no explanation for why others cant grow in size). This would mean adaption would have to take place, for example – super saiyans transform on a cellular level – similar to underworld transformations maybe. and another of many ideas is that the guardians of earth actually govern the world’s destiny very closely – for example Piccolo was released at that specific time, because it gave goku practice for the saiyans, and make an allegiance with piccolo later, and also because his oozaru form would have killed gohan, rendering him severely depressed and make the earth defenseless.
