    Niiice

  • mamow

ive listened to this so many times, i love it!
i never knew Sean could sing, i like how he sounds like the Japanese singer a bit

  • http://www.dblegends.com/members/kakashi/ Iron Maiden

    i prefer the japanese version

  • gram18

Oh god, that’s horrible! Why keep the cheesy Japanese Kai theme (total ripoff of the cheesy GT theme) when the rest of the world does not listen to this kind of music! I only hope this is made just for Nick (since it sounds like a song for 7 year olds) and the dvd/bluray will future something more powerful and energetic.

I can’t begin to explain how much better this is, how much better it sets the tone of the show and how much more suitable it is for what dragonball is. What are they planning to do, skip the Faulconer track that has such a huge following altogether?

    Extremely disappointed…

  • 1froggy13

I love it! Listened to it several times now. :)

@ gram18 – It’s just an intro, chill the fuck out. Plus Iam glad not everyone is like you, if they didn’t keep the original music in Japanese games such as Zelda and replaced it with some cheap ass generic track then it would be ruined.

    And fuck rock the dragon.

  • tasunara

I personally love what FUNi’s done with this! I was kind of hoping Vic Mignogna would do it, but I love it all the same! It’s great!

  • tasunara

What are they planning to do, skip the Faulconer track that has such a huge following altogether?Extremely disappointed…

Yeah. They’re planning on using something better, is there a problem with that?

  • http://www.dblegends.com/members/admin/ avenged

Exactly, Faulconer had great music don’t get me wrong. But nothing is ever better than the original IMO.

  • gram18

@Tasunara: Better is subjective. The Faulconer music has a big following whether you like it or not.

@avenged: I don’t like “Rock the Dragon” at all and the link I posted is not using rock the dragon. Rock the dragon was not written by Faulconer. I don’t know why you ask me to chill out, I’m not the one swearing, I just expressed my disappointment. The new intro is obviously newsworthy to you, so why shouldn’t I care about it as well? Also, why bring up Zelda, did I complain about Zelda’s music? I didn’t know I have to like whatever is being posted here. In my opinion using the original for the sake of it is just wrong, I don’t want the original because I don’t like it at all.

I wonder, all you guys who say you like this intro, would you listen to a song like this at home if you didn’t know it’s dragonball’s intro? Wouldn’t you think it’s a random kiddish song with the most random kiddish lyrics? Because in the western world, nobody listens to music like this apart from a niche of fans of their favorite anime shows and really young children. Isn’t Dragonball Z a lot more powerful, energetic and dark than this?

  • http://www.dblegends.com/members/admin/ avenged

@ gram 18 – I brought up Zelda as an example for original intent, pay attention. Ok lets say Chrono Trigger instead? Who cares… I didn’t say you mentioned Rock the Dragon or that it was Faulconer’s work at all. My point was it was a crappy Americanized intro for DBZ, and not everything that is dubbed is for the best.

And no, that music isn’t kiddish. And yes it’s all your opinion.

I take it you’re not very familiar with the JP music for DB/Z/GT though huh?

  • gram18

I did not make an argument on other shows/games, my comment was made exclusively for dragonball, so I consider your analogies irrelevant.

I never said whatever the Americans produce is good (for example that horrendous GT rap song that replaced the kiddish “hold my hand” crap of the Japanese one), so your rock the dragon analogy is also irrelevant.

So you listen to this happy cheerful tune with these lyrics and think, yeah, this suits Dragonball Z’s tone perfectly? And yeah, what a mature song that adults can enjoy? Good for you, but I guarantee you that aside for the self proclaimed “hardcore fans” that will drool over anything that sounds Japanese, the western world will roll their eyes on such music and lyrics.

Why do you conclude I am not familiar with the Japanese music of Dragonball. I am familiar with it, I just dislike it.

  • gram18

Hmmmm… my last message didn’t get posted, lets try it again, I hope it won’t appear suddenly along with this one.

@avenged: Why you keep trying to find analogies? I happen to dislike the Japanese Dragonball kai opening theme, your examples have nothing to do with my opinion on the said tune. I didn’t also say that american music is always better, I agree with Rock the Dragon and I can also add the horrible american rap opening of GT (which replaced an equally horrible “hold my hand” crap Japanese theme, and was replaced by an embarrassing dubbed version of the same tune) to that. Why do you a few exceptions, I dislike it.

Dragonball is a show a lot larger than the anime community niche. This kind of opening does not do justice to the show. Everyone but the self proclaimed “hardcore fans” will roll their eyes with such tune and lyrics in the western world.

  • Kira

No offense but wth is this? The lyrics make absolutely no sense and the music is extremely corny. To think this is good is laughable, original or not it’s gay. /unrelated sexual preference

  • Darth_Alpha

Always loved Dragon Ball, my favourite. But Japaneses version, no many how many times I see it, is always at least 5 times better than English version. No offence, I am no Japanese either. Japanese are just good at it.

  • Darth_Alpha

GT’s musci is completely off compare to DB and DBZ as well. GT has one of the least interesting story with minimum action with maximum suspense. DB is the one with maximum story, minimum suspense. DBZ is Maximum Action, Medium Story, Maximum Suspense(Too many episodes) DBK is maximum Action, Minimum Story (Remade), medium suspense (take out the extra episodes)

@ gram18 – Your messages don’t show up automatically because they get marked as spam for some reason. You don’t like the JP music that’s fine, I’m just a man that prefers original intent usually and there is no reason to continue arguing.

  • gram18

    @avenged
I know they don’t get posted automatically, it just took a whole week this time, that’s why I thought I might have done something wrong.
Back to the topic, I agree, there is no point in arguing about this, there was no point to argue at all to begin with, I only expressed a wish/opinion that is shared by a portion of the Dragonball fanbase in the western world.

    @Darth_Alpha
I agree with all your points about GT.
