Live Action Trunks as a Super Saiyan

Sketch drawn by Rider4Z

With the possibility of several sequels to the live action film Dragonball Evolution, many fans speculate certain Dragon Ball aspects brought to life. One of which being, what would and should a live action Super Saiyan look like? Many say long hair that is literally on fire would do just fine, while others want to stick to the original as much as possible and keep it all “gold”. What would you personally like to see on the big screen? Post your ideas in the comments, and feel free to provide drawings/renderings as well.

The picture to the right was drawn by DeviantArt member Rider4z. And I must say this piece is just amazing. This would be my ideal style for a live action Super Saiyan.

James Marsters talks Dragonball Evolution Sequel

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Sci FI Talk has posted a new interview today with James Marsters. Although it is mainly about his other projects, they do get into some detail on the sequel to Dragonball Evolution (Dragonball Reborn) and other Dragon Ball aspects. The interview is in audio format so I went ahead and wrote it out myself, but if you wish to listen to the entire interview, then visit Sci Fi Talk.

Piccolo and GokuSci Fi Talk : Now, you were in Dragonball and I have actually heard rumor of a Dragonball 2. Has anyone talked to you at all?

James Marsters : I hope so, they don’t have to talk to me. I am under contract so I just have to be ready. But I hope we do it because the first one was Dragon Ball and this one we could start to get into Dragon Ball Z territories. It’s a lot more energetic, a lot more violence. Dragon ball is really more about comedy and growing up. And Dragon Ball Z is being forced to fight for what you believe in.

Sci Fi Talk : Well the thing about these movies is because of the manga, it is actually a world wide popularity. Not just the US but in Asia it is so huge.

James Marsters : Yeah it has been for almost 20 years.

Will Avatar Fund the Sequel to Dragonball Evolution?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Website DBZ220 (link removed) claims to have information from a publication stating that the film Avatar could very well fund Dragonball Reborn and that FOX states many movies adapted from cartoons will emerge sometime in 2011. Here’s a translated portion from that website.

FOX had a lot of hesitation when the future of Dragon Ball Evolution. Indeed, the leaders were afraid to spend too much money for a second film. But since the release of Avatar the situation changed. While Fox has won the hispanic 2.35 billion with the film company could mean several film projects abandoned, including Dragon Ball Evolution. The newspaper also said, quoting a source as FOX NEWS, that many movies adapted from cartoons should emerge by 2011.

However that website does not provide any source material or what newspaper exactly he got the information from. The reason of my posting this is to hopefully clarify any of these claims. So if anyone can shed some light on this, please do. But for now, simply take this as another rumor that could very well be fake.

Another Layout Change

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

It appeared that our last layout was fairly broken when viewed in Internet Explorer. And seeing how about half our viewers use that browser I decided to either redo the last layout or install a whole new one. Well as you can see I went with a new layout. And with our recent user integration addition to the site, I felt this layout suited those aspects much better anyways. Aside from all that, welcome to version 5.0. If anyone finds any bugs, please report them in the comments, thanks.

Oh and affiliates, do not worry, I will re-add all of you very soon.
