James Marsters stated in an interview last month with Blockbuster that he was “counting” on a certain extended fight scene that never made the final cut of the film. Of course we all know that there is not an extended fight scene between Goku and Piccolo in the Dragonball Evolution DVD.
As Piccolo, Marsters is hidden under layers of latex and pea-green make-up, and it’s hardly the first time he’s worked under such conditions. “Acting isn’t comfortable,” he says, matter-of-factly. “It’s one of those jobs that’s never going to be comfortable, and like race car driving and mountain climbing, it’s no good whining when it’s uncomfortable.”
A Dragonball fan for many years now, Marsters says he jumped at the chance to play the role. What’s more, he conspired to make his character older and uglier than the producers had originally intended, even though that meant longer spells in the make up chair. “In the manga,” explains the actor, “Piccolo starts very old and decrepit. The reason he’s angry enough to take revenge on the Earth is because the Guardians of Earth stole his youth. If he was young and good looking in the movie, he would have collapsed into a general kind of villain that I no longer understood.
James Marsters “I was willing to be fired over that one. I believed in it that much. I was sitting with the make up guy saying, ‘Older, older, OLDER!’ And he said, ‘Dude, I don’t think the producer is going to like this.’ But I told him, ‘The producer is not here – just do it!’ In the end I got my way, and Piccolo works all the better for it.”
“I’m looking forward to the Dragonball Evolution DVD, because I’m counting on the extra package showing a lot of the fight that was cut. We shot twice as much as was used and I tore myself up for those takes, so I want to see those shots. I baked the cake,” says Marsters, wrapping up, “and now I want to taste it!”
Unless these extra cuts are included in a future re-release of the DVD or as a director’s cut, we won’t get to see them.

I hope they wont make a sequel. But that doesnt mean that I dont want DB movies anymore.
I would prefer a NEW DB movie in about 5 or maybe 10 years, I dont mind waiting for the movie. Just make it right, and take your time (like Prince of Persia the movie). Dont rush it, make a good story and wait with the movie untill you get enough money to make a EPIC DB movie. Than you can make sequels.

acctually djinn they worked on the film for 3 years and they did a really good job u just dont see it man it wouldnt be a good movie if they made exactly word for word from the manga it would be kinda weird the director evolutionized dragonball thats why its called dragonball evolution and not just dragonball and i want a sequal that will be the piccolo jr saga i just think u should not hate th movie because of stupid stuff like goku being white and bulma not having blue hair so what the movie does have flas i addmit that but its still a good movie and the reason that it isnt to the source material more is because ben ramsey did the script i like the movie and i cant wait for a sequal gohan(Quote)

I dont mind the changes, I prefer changes in the movie. I wouldnt mind if they put in a NEW character in the movie too.
I just think it is not proffesionaly made. What I hate the most is that Goku didnt TRAIN atoll (I SAID THIS 1000 times), and managed to defeat Piccolo that killed Grandpa Gohan ( who defeated Goku at the begining easely). You have to make the main character TRAIN it is what movis are all about! And the litle changes would make movie much batter, like Gokus kamehameha was funny just because he was flying in the air (If he’d shoot him from the ground it would be SOO MUCH batter!), when he was charging his power for kamehameha, his poze wasnt what I would prefere. I dont like the whole story. I dont know why didnt they put Oozaru in a lizard form that they wanted to put in the begining, It would be BATTER to (and not some shapeshifting low quality monkey). I wont say nothing about the dragon, cause I think they made him short on purpise, so that NAMEK DRAGON would be longer.
I dont want sequels, cause none of the characters (except Roshi) didnt stand out. I wouldnt mind if Goku died…
And I know they want to make second movie about saiyan saga (Vegeta saga) which they will destroy, and the third Namek saga (super saiyan). Eaven if next movies would kick ass, they wouldnt be soo good because of the stupid first one ”EVOLUTION”. DjiNN(Quote)
