If you consider $30,000,000 low budget then you must don’t know what low budget is. Plus there ain’t nothing wrong with low budget films. I seen a few low budget films that are better then big budget films. Infact what is the point of spending $200,000,000 on a movie???? Peter Jackson proved that when he help produced “District 9″. You ask ”what is the point of spending $200,000,000 on movie?”…. If they would spent that much money on DB the movie, it would break some records believe me. Not just that us FANS would go watch it (some probably 10x), but other people who didnt know what DB is, would too. It would bring back atleast 5x the budget was.
Its a great point doing so.
PLUS I think the budget was something around $45,000,000, but James Marsters just said it was 30 milion so that people would come down.

why people compare District 9 to Dragonball yes both of have the same budget but heres something District 9 has not fanbase. its a unknown movie but Dragonball have a major fanbase FOX should of spend more money for Dragonball but then again James Wong is not a A+ director for a major studio to give him 100-200+ million budget.

Comparing District 9 and dragon ball is pointlessly stupid, they had all of Peter Jackson’s dropped Halo project equipment and resources to use for that film plus the addition “speculated” 35 million. Also, District 9 is an incredibly well made film that was very, VERY, well managed on its budget… DBE is far from a good film and faaaar from well managed film. That movie was ALL OVER THE PLACE in pre.p and EVEN POST.p for Christ sakes.
Considering the nature of both films is entirely different as well. Not to mention, DBE was a FOX project, that was so mishandled it ended up even worse than it was expected to be for the ridiculously low budget projected at 45 million. …lawlz(Quote)

For a Dragonball movie to be done well u would need at least 100 million, AT LEAST, the content just requires it as its so out of the ordinary. A well made Z movie would need more money than any studio would be willing to put up for it right now… Give it ten years. The stink from DBE will be old news and they’ll give it another go, its only a matter of time. I’m just hooping fox looses or sells the rights to dragonball.
