Although they probably should have started promotion earlier than this for the DVD/Blu-ray release, two trailers have been released to promote the release of Dragonball Evolution.The trailers actually make the movie seem good, but none the less it is always nice to get new material/trailers from a movie based off Dragon Ball that has already been released. Purchase your copy of Dragonball Evolution on DVD or Blu-ray July 28th.

Just thought that those were nice, that’s all. I don’t know for the life of me why they decided to edit the hell out of the movie, but the editing’s pretty choppy. I love how they just use the clip of her announcing her name as an introduction, flipping the clip while they did it. That’s pretty funny, to me. Great movie, though. I loved it. Man, people put so much pressure on you for news without realizing it, avenged. It’s hella cool that you do this. I’d like to do something like this, someday, because I’ve been a fan of Dragon Ball since I was 4. For 13 years of my life, I’ve been following Dragon Ball religiously, so I, naturally, love this website. It’s the first place I go for my DB fix. I hope DBE gets a sequel. There wasn’t enough publicity for Dragonball Evolution for people to really care about it. I heard talk of it at school, but most people were like, “There’s gonna be a live movie of Dragonball Z?” It was pretty funny, but sad, to say the least. The least we could get is a reboot. Hell, I’d love to take a swing at directing a DB movie when I get though film school, but that’s way far off to say anything about it. I have ideas, though. Yeah I just talked to a promotion employee from FOX and I guess the reason that there is more promotion for the DVD is ‘probably’ because they wanted to promote that more than the theater release. Apparently certain companies either target more towards the DVD/Home Video or Theater release, because some movies have more strengths in the DVD market, some in theater. Yeah, that’s pretty lame. This movie could’ve been extremely strong in theaters if they’d done a better editing and promoting job, I mean look at Transformers. They could’ve made this the next Transformers, I’m not kidding.

Oh, knowing FOX, there will be a new Dragonball movie. Perhaps a remake, perhaps a sequel, but there will be a new one. Just maybe in time.
FOX likes to milk a shit ton of things. Like, did anyone else know that they’re developing a Sims movie?! That is the DUMBEST idea I’ve heard in MY LIFE!!!! It’s just stupid. The game doesn’t have any story to build off of. You make people. You make a house. You stick people in the house and play god. That’s all you do. There is no movie in that stupid game, and therefore, I’m gonna watch Spyro and Astro Boy instead.

Okay, so irrelevant, but this is what was posted about the Dragonball Evolution DVD trailers in the ACTUAL blog post, not the comment boards, mind you, on dragonball.saiyanisland.com, AKA DBthemovie.com:

It’s too late to try and make Dragonball: Evolution look cool. You had over a year to cut a good trailer to deceive the public into thinking the movie was half-way decent, but you were lazy. These DVD commercials would have been awesome in 2008, but now they’re just depressing.”
Sound like a Dragonball fan to you? This is what all the haters sound like. Stupid little fanboys with nothing to do but bitch and complain about a movie made by a News Corporation to get money. But that’s what all this was about. Money.

That ^ post looks like it’s just bitching and complaining from me, and it is, really, because, correct me if I’m wrong, the whole point of a Dragonball Blog is to post NEWS about what’s new in the Dragonball world, not to post news thick in obvious bias. It’s just sad is what it is. People have got to let this movie go. It was a great movie, if you weren’t watching it to hate it. People act like they’ve given it an honest chance and then turn around before they see the final cut of the film and bash on every little piece of promotional material and interview and press release, just because FOX is involved. Don’t blame the actors. Don’t blame the producers. The one who made the movie at the core was Wong. And even then, if the movie was so horrible, just let it rest, already. It’s strange that nobody seems to let it go that the movie was “horrible” and “garbage”, and that’s just stopping FOX from ever wanting to make another movie. They have the rights whether you like it or not, and if it did so terribly in the box office, what other movie studio’s gonna want to pick up the rights? There will be another film. No doubt about that. But I don’t know if it will be within the next year or the next 5 years. Bullshit. Every last word that Adam has posted has been the truth and the most competent lines of text on the site. Why would you come to a site that posts the same news and complain about them posting news in a slightly more harsh manner about an obviously horrible movie that was full to the brim with garbage. What I’m saying, Jeff, is that we need to forget about the damn movie. People live in the past like they expected the movie to be a carbon-copy of the anime. If they want the anime, watch the anime. What we fans deserve is what we’re never going to get, and most of us should know that. But what Adam said in his latest post just sounded like bitching. If we forgot about Dragonball Evolution, because nobody saw it in theaters, anyway, that much is apparent, then FOX might be compelled to make a newer, better movie, but they don’t care about the fans.

If it makes sense to you, that’s fine by me, but all I’m trying to do is stop the senseless arguing over a movie that only hardcore DBZ fans even knew about. It’s just sad that everyone seems to use this movie as an example of terrible cinema. There’s way worse movies out their, but that’s all up for debate. You can never make the fans happy, so what do we as fans truly deserve? I was looking all over WalMart, tonight, and they have a huge section for just the DVD of Dragonball Evolution. It’s kinda funny, because nobody in my town knows about it. I had to go to a whole different city just to see it in theaters, because we didn’t get it, here.
And I think that even if we gave our helpful advice, they wouldn’t listen, anyway. The fact of the matter is, they won’t listen because most of the “helpful advice” is senseless bitching about the fact that they have no Krillin in the movie.
The movie kept true to the overall spirit of Dragonball, and I can’t believe that people are bashing on the plot.
The plot: A boy with superhuman strength goes on a quest to find the seven wish granting dragonballs before an alien invader can get to them.
The plot for Dragonball the anime:
A boy with superhuman strength goes on a quest to find the seven wish granting dragonballs before they fall into the wrong hands.
The only major differences in the basic plot structure is that in the anime, Goku is a kid who lives in the middle of nowhere with no human contact and no prior knowledge about the dragonballs, whereas in Evolution, he’s a teenager who attends high school and knows about the dragonballs, beforehand. Woah. What a change. Goku is a little more toned down in the movie, but that’s about it.
If you want to see a bad movie that makes Evolution look like a fucking masterpiece, watch Funky Monkey or Ace Ventura Jr. The latter is the worst piece of crap that’s ever called itself a film, let alone an Ace Ventura movie. It makes Evolution look like it was written by God himself and handed to director Jesus Christ, for fuck’s sake. Seriously. Tasunara(Quote)
