FUNimation announced that a special crane game featuring Dragon Ball Z action figures (from Namco) will be available around the country (over 780 locations). You can play these Dragon Ball Z crane games at amusement parks, theaters, etc. Could these have been that other DBZ related announcement FUNimation was talking about before? Anways, here is the press release.
Flower Mound, Texas (July 15, 2009) – FUNimation Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation, Toei Animation, Ltd., and Namco Cybertainment Inc., one of the largest amusement game operators in the U.S. and Caribbean, are bringing the Z-fighters to more than 780 amusement centers around the country.
Already available, these centers house a new crane game containing figures of Goku, his friends and foes. The Dragon Ball Z figure crane game will offer an entirely new experience for those who are familiar with the old crane concept. Instead of directing a crane claw to a random and, hopefully, substantial grip on a desired prize, crane players are able to utilize their skills to line up the claw fingers with one or more of the eight holes in the custom figure packaging for a precise hook on their favorite Dragon Ball Z figures. These collector edition figure prizes are designed and manufactured by Banpresto Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan and cannot be found in retail stores.

This can’t be the DBZ related announcement FUNimation was talking about before, the press release came out on July 15th, the same day that they came out with this:
Referring to Otakon 2009 (July 17th – 19th)
“Veteran voice actors Sonny Strait and Mike McFarland will be signing autographs at the FUNimation booth on Friday, July 17 at 2:00 pm and Saturday, July 18 at 12:00 pm. You may know McFarland for his role as Master Roshi and Strait as Krillin in the Dragon Ball Z series. Why are they at Otakon? We will have Dragon Ball Z news.”
and also take a look at this announcement right after:
“Attend our Industry Panel on Saturday, July 8 at 10:00 pm in Panel Room 5 when we will share our latest news and notes – including new acquisitions — and answer your questions. Then later…” keyword – “acquisitions” it’s gotta be related to Dragonball Kai, funimation would not pass up on Dragonball Kai.
“Get a sneak peek of the newest titles coming down the FUNimation turnpike at the appropriately named FUNimation Sneak Peek Panel on Friday, July 18 at 3:00 pm in Panel Room 6.”
So what I take from this: Dragonball Z news, new acquisitions, and newest titles, It’s gotta be Dragonball Kai, funimation would not pass it up. Well it’s what I’m hoping for, and if they do acquire the rights to it, dub it (with the original cast), and air it on tv, that would be amazing and it would be a dream come true. Anyways, I am hoping for the best

This is a pretty cool idea. I just hope we get one in Carson. We never get anything out here, though, so it’s not likely. Tasunara(Quote)

This actually is really neat, I wonder if they’ll tell us somehow where exactly they’re going to be sending some of these crane games, at least in what cities, and movie theaters, that would be really cool Albert Fernandez(Quote)

Nice link JadixUnstoppable. I wonder why didnt they add the deleted sceens to the moie? The movie couldnt be worse it would be just batter and longer. I think they did this on purpose so that they would get more money from the fans. If the DVD would be the same as the movie we saw, just a few of fans would buy it, but now that it has deleted sceens and other stuf, more fans will buy the DVD. DjiNN(Quote)
