As the original creator, I had a feeling of “Huh?” upon seeing the screenplay and the character designs, but the director, all the actors, the staff, and the rest are nothing but “ultra” high-caliber people. Maybe the right way for me and all the fans to appreciate it is as a New Dragon Ball of a different dimension. Perhaps, this might become a great masterpiece of power! Hey, I look forward to it!!

It sounds like it grew on him because its a tribute to his creation and will go on record as the first official live action Dragonball film. Like to everyone at first the idea is strange but it grows on you when you actually realize what is going into this movie and where the are coming from.

yea he might be looking forward to it but he could end up being really disappointed with the movie. He just might want to see how bad this movie is going to turn out

He is not waiting to see how bad it is >_> As proven in previous interviews, Akira was somewhat involved with the movie. He was in direct contact with the director on several occasions.

@ avenged – He might have been in contact with the director but not enought to see the movie before it’s released appearanlty and as i said before – he could very well be disappointed with it. I think this movie looks like crap. i really dont care if Akira Toriyama ends up liking it. I would be pleased too if someone wanted to make a movie based on my work. That might be the only reason he might like it. I love dragon ball z to death but they had their heads up their asses when they were making this. The worst thing about this movie comming out is that they are acually making a video game based on it. Why the hell would anybody want to play a fighting game based on the movie which is based off the manga/anime which has much better fighting games based off them. So stupid….i hope this movie bombs and this is the last live action dragon ball movie ever made.

Dont start with that argument. Explain to me all the comic based movies that released a video game (Spiderman, Superman, the Hulk etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc). Its just part of promotion. And if you continue to act immature you will be banned. Decent critism is welcome, but not 100% bashing and cussing. If you noticed this isnt just a site dedicated to the movie, so just please act more mature.

i’ve seen the trailers and i cant say nothing more , besides .. that im very disappointed =S , dont you people get me wrong , i think to do a actual movie with “real ” people about dragon ball , it must be one hell of a job , maybe the most hard those directors will face in their lifes ,of course im waiting to see , but if im already very disappointed … well .. will see . i had the same feeling about “Final Fantasy ” and i was right , i just hope i mistake greatly this time. Dragon Ball is the best Anime ever !!it mark one generation ! i speak for me , i never saw one anime so complete as dragon ball , sad that it didnt continue a bit more ( right ?!:P) anyway , cheers to everyone , great website Greetings from PORTUGAL
