Its finally here! The full blown Dragonball teaser trailers. Yes trailers, there are two versions. They are the first official HD trailers with sound. View both versions the trailer in all its glory below. The longer version shows new shots of Piccolo (yes and he is green!) and plenty of ki blasts! Also, since these might be taken off of Youtube soon, we will make them available for download and viewable via our media player! We have also screen captured some stills from the trailer. You can view most of them below the trailers and the rest via our gallery here.
The full official trailer should be available to the public sometime in December.

Ok, this has to be one of the WORST movie trailers that I have ever seen.
If you are a fan of the whole series and are above the age of 13 and you like this crap movie, please kill yourself.
This looks absolutely fucking ridiculous.
All the little kids who are going to watch this, my god…and you’re going to be voting some day….
I can’t begin to fathom the amount of crap that his movie will be. I honestly hope it tanks at the box office, I hope it tanks harder than the movies shown in MST3K.
About a year ago or so there was rumor of a DBZ movie, the characters looked amazing but it lost it’s funding.
This is the bastard child of that awesomeness.
All-in-all, Hope this movie is a massive flop but the little kids probably won’t allow that to happen, will you, you little “know nothing about movie/story structure” shits.

I agree entirely with what miler says. This movie looks to hold nothing from the anime other than names and the physical object of the dragon balls. I also hope that this miserable attempt at a movie fails in the box office. From the trailer I can already conclude that it won’t even begin to touch on the story apart from the need of the dragon balls to save the world from piccolo which wasn’t needed in the first place in the original story.
If kids these days truly see this as a great looking movie then I am truly concerned as to what will follow if such a shitstorm of a movie even does decent in the box office. Whats next? Thundercats without the sword of thundara? come the fuck on, if a big name studio pics up a story like this, the least they can do is hold true to the original story or make the fights as interesting as they were in the anime (ex. transformers, didn’t hold true to the original story but who the fuck cared the fights were entertaining and the story was…..decent despite shia lebouf).

But aren’t the dragon balls supposed to be glowy? If you seen the episodes when Goku first meets Bulma, the dragon balls glows when they come closer together, but most of the time they just look like shiny marbles. They still look kind of the same, so I think it’s good.
Anyways, this is only a teaser trailer, there’s still more stuff about the movie that’s unknown to the public. I bet a lot of people that complains about the movie now may change their minds when they actually see it. Give it a chance. xD
Either way, I’m excited for it. I like what I see so far, regardless whether or not they could do better. The only thing that really bugs me is Bulma’s hair. THEY SHOULD’VE KEPT THE GREEN HAIR! *bawles* T_T;;

Master Roshi was bald. So was Krillin, but apparently everyone forgot about him. Plus, we all know that the Nimbus Cloud is what made Dragon Ball entertaining and it looks like that was scrapped too.
Fuck this movie I hope all the film catches on fire and it never gets released.

We have to remember that this is an adaptation and non-canon to the series. If you wish to only watch the anime, then well the new Dragonball Z Special should be online shortly.

Sometimes something bad happens, and your told “well thats life”. The bittersweet reality of things always reminds you that this world isn’t perfect. Many things are controlled by greed for money, and idocracy. Well this film is a good example of that, and everything else that is vile, unholy and disgusting. As a boy i loved Goku, and all that is dragonball. I grew up loving dragonball Z. Now i knew i would be cynical about a DB live action movie, but it’s not unfair for me to say that this movie WILL BE ABSOLUTE HORSE SHIT!!!!! The basics, such as goku being a full grown skinny white boy, piccolo looking like a gay vampire, the girls having main fighting roles just to sell sex, theses are all dissapointing. But its deeper than that. Dragonball (& DBZ) had themes, and a certain emotion to it that really inspired and comforted me. This story will be way off from the original. The world will be warped. The characters are the worst. The costumes are terrible. I hope it flops, and everyone involved takes a huge hit on this. Spend your money and time on something more worthwhile. What will you villians do next? Make a zelda movie with westly snipes as link?

Dude, Zak Snyder does the Watchmen and than the Dragonball Series gets this? It looks like a lameass Jackie Chan movie from 1997. Why is Bulma fighting? Why are there tricked out Dodge Chargers? Why isn’t Piccolo green? and where is his sweet turban?
This will OBVIOUSLY flop, DBZ has been around in America for over a decade now, the only people who will give a shit about this movie are the die hard fans who grew up with it and they’ve been given the metaphorical middle finger by Hollywood. This trailer is just downright OFFENSIVE. Little kids won’t even go to see this they are too stuck on Yu Gi OH and kicking my ass at Halo 3.
How about Leonard DiCaprio directing the American live action of Akira? HA. you think this Dragonball movie is bad, just wait until you get a load of Neo-Manhattan. Christ on a cross I hope noone ever gets a hold of the Lone Wolf and Cub series…

@ Legalize It – This isn’t DBZ, this is Dragonball. Young Piccolo is green in the trailer. Bulma does fight in Dragonball, she aids Goku’s quest on several occasions.
I suggest that people watch the original Dragonball before even critising this thing at all.
Give the movie a chance. If you don’t wish to then well, no one is forcing any of you to watch the movie. I know for a fact it can NOT be nearly as bad as the two original live action Dragonball movies made a long time ago. Dont believe me, go to the link below.

this looks terrible. it seemed like a low budget quality film. even the explosion looks lame. the composite effect’s totally ruins. i don’t know wether this is will be superb or not, but as a DB fan, i am not satisfied.

I’ve shown this “trailer” to people who have never seen a single episode of DB and every single person said it looked like a good awful movie.
I’m angry at this adaptation for what it is, a bad movie. Yes, this will be a kids movie but even when thinking in that respect, it still looks pretty bad. Reminds me a lot of Power Rangers when they first came out.
Also notice the blatant product placement that just sucks from movies credibility[Note: Transformers(which sucked also)].
Movies like these have a massive budget, so they will probably look decent in terms of special effects but when it comes down to actual plot and storyline, you might as well watch your bathtub fill up with water.

I had no idea that mine and Miler’s opinions were held in such high regards. Anyway, we were simply expressing how dissapointed we were that this movie is even being made let alone the fact that the trailer leads us both to believe it will be horrible. A PowerRangers movie from the mid 90’s had a better trailer and appeal than this does. I just can’t see why it was needed to liscence a live-action movie in the first place. All tihs will do is simply disgust and dissapoint anyone who truly appreciated both Dragonball And DBZ.

Personally Iam psyched about the movies, I’ve been waiting for it to happen since 2000, didn’t think it would possibly ever happen. For the longest time I thought it was just as likely a Zelda movie would be made. But now since a lot of video game/anime adaptations are being made, we just might see live action Zelda, even Aonuma mentioned something about it being a possibility in the future.

Milerliteweight i was only using you and that other guy as examples, you are not the only ones who are ragging dragonball there are others and i was talking about all of them in general, i just find it very unfair that we have to listen to you guys saying that this movie is gonna be a flop, i am excited to watch it and so are many other people. I do agree that the trailer was not that great but i am still hoping for the best, it doesn’t help when someone is trying to support something and then you have people around saying that its gonna suck.

@ janet – Goku only goes to school for a couple of minutes, thats it. The story is actually pretty damn close to the real one from the anime. They just pretty much combined all of DB into the Piccolo sagas. And that Goku part, I dont think he is afraid of anything…he just knows he isn’t ready for either fighting Piccolo or turning Oozaru. Even several times in the anime, Goku left to train before fighting anyone. Goku isn’t Asian, he is Saiyan. He just grew up in the asian environment (Roshi is still Asian, as is Chi Chi, and Yamcha, and Grandpa Gohan etc etc etc).

the one thing about this movie that bothers me the most is how goku is being played by a 26 year old actor. he’s only a boy when he fights piccolo daimao. don’t even get me started on the idea of goku ever being in high school even if it is just for a brief time during the film. in the trailer goku says “i’m not ready for this” he would never say anything like that. anytime a new challenge comes up goku gets excited for the opportunity to fight someone strong because that’s the only thing that he cares about, fighting strong guys. oh yeah, and apparently mai is in this movie and she fights. WHAT mai doesn’t do anything but look dumb and run away from goku along with pilaf and shu all the time give me a break. the last thing i’m going to say is what about krillin you cannot absolutely cannot have dragonball without krillin. seriously

Wow, I can’t believe that I am posting a comment. This the first time I’ve actually felt compelled enough to put my thoughts down to post, and it’s all thanks to the stench of crappiness that this trailer emits.
Personally there is no need to wait because I am 100% certain that this movie will sux harder than a cock hungry bitch. This is clearly aimed for starving young kids and we can’t blame them for their eagerness for anything DragonBall related. But for mature fans of DragonBall, I would hope to believe that you would all agree with me when I say this movie should be retitled SuckmyBalls.

it sucks. it really does. and it will. it will be the only thing it will do. the suit.. goku never took off the suit. and never a glowing silk suit. fuck it would be like a kimono, like martial arts people use. piccolo sucks. someone earlier said it right, they took spike, twisted a little blade style, and created a really nice piece of prosthetic crap.
give the movie to someone who cares, or at least to someone who cares about preserving the essence of the thing. goku would never fight with someone on the street, he was afraid to kill them. a prophecy? i never heard one prophecy in DB. its a simple try to make money from the name and prestige of such a great series as Dragonball, for me the best in the genre.
It can never be an adaptation. and it never could be made in a reality as same as ours. fuck, goku grew up hunting dinossaurs. its fantasy, not reality. the movie sucks.
roshi is a horny old man, who does nothing but to stare at his housewife juggs, but he is a really badass motherfucker, the sensei of goku. I would give it to peter jackson if he took it. theres a guy who can make an adaptation. and he could make awesome. to all you tossers that say it can be good, kiss my ass cus it deep throat’s. like your mother would do. and to all the other comrads, its the kind off movie that i would love to seed, only to see it put 2 fingers up the ass.

Every single piece of internet news? We have seen a grand total of a few interviews, a few pictures and an incomplete (only having minimal CGI added) trailer that we really weren’t even supposed to see because it was for promotional purposes.

Are you saying that all that information about how they screwed up and will continue screwing up is just a hoax, and that the actual movie will be the decent adaptation we would all expect(like an Asian kid instead of Chatwin playing Goku, Piccolo’s green and bald with antennas, etc.)? Fox would be pretty stupid to do this if they were smart enough to do things right, because they should know this kind of hoax would just get people round the world to boycott just like they are doing now.
Well, since we trust what Fox’s been telling us, I can say for sure the movie will be as bad as it sounds beforehand.

Hello again everyone. I’m getting terribly tired of the “kiddy” attitude that a lot of you seem to have towards “You can’t judge a movie by it’s trailer.” I’ll agree that some of the time, this is true BUT that “some” is a very low number. The majority of the time, if they trailer looks like it just absolutely sucks; it’s going to suck.
Found this, from a smart person:
“It seems like a typical formulaic Hollywood movie. Underdog gets bullied in the beggining, then he finds out there’s some latent potential ability or special power within him and that he must use it to beat some bad guy. He also gets the girl in the end and there’s some mushy kiss scene (already seen in the trailer).”

I`m saying “were” , cause it all failed to be a real Dragon Ball movie for me (and I think that for every other DB fan too) ALREADY. As for me… it`s just crap. I MEAN COME ON PEOPLE… fancy cars, GUNS!(?) , characters looking like some kids-idiots, who look nowhere near to the original characters from the real anime Dragon Ball (no offence to people who are starring) . A teaser is merely a very short trailer. Danielle get over it, seriously. While none of us have seen the movie in it’s entirety obviously, a trailer(hence teaser) is merely a compilation of clips from said movie. People who are expressing their disdain for what they have seen as of late, is merely their opinion towards these short clips which will ultimately make up the movie.
So yes, you can judge a movie based on it’s trailer.
Take for instance: If you saw a movie that was comprised entirely of poor animations and shotty dialogue but you only saw these things from the trailer. Would you really expect the movie as a whole to be any better than your preconceived notions? I think not.
People have their opinions as to how this movie is going to turn out and ultimately they will all be correct unless the trailer literally shows nothing of how the movie as a whole will turn out to be. It doesn’t matter how information is obtained because the information that is actually available is still(believe it or not) bad.
Also, this isn’t “arrogance” as you so lightly put, I find myself being no more superior to anyone here than anyone else. I’m merely getting across the point that everyone should comprehend, that teasers/trailers whatever you want to call them do reveal to an audience of how the movie(as a whole) will be.
Look at the definition of a trailer itself:
Since the purpose of the trailer is to attract an audience to the film, these excerpts are usually drawn from the most exciting, funny, or otherwise noteworthy parts of the film.
This trailer/teaser does not attract me, along with many others. So this will fail as a movie. A sad but truthful thing.
All in all, deal with it.

Official or not, it’s merely a word and doesn’t change anything. No, I have no read anything concerning the movie since I am not interested enough and do not have the time for such things.
Once a movie is complete/almost finished, trailers are made since they are in fact merely bits and pieces of the movie itself. It doesn’t matter how long they work on a trailer or how “real” it is. What we have seen so far will almost definetly be the movie, which is why people have their concerns.
I really can’t wait until this comes out, flops and then this site dies like most fan sites of this nature that I’ve been to in the past.

I . . . I can’t believe it! After hearing about this movie being in production years ago, I already knew that it couldn’t be a good variation of the actual anime. But this, this is horrible! I am SO MAD right now! The guy who plays Goku looks nothing like him and honestly, as an American myself, I would have rather him been played by an Asian actor! Granted with Dragonball and DBZ’s vast storyline, I wasn’t expecting to see many familiar senario’s, but the cars, Bulma fighting, no Krillin, Roshi with hair, I am almost at a lost for words! The fight scenes are going to have to save this movie! After I saw the mid-air fight between Agent Smith and Neo in the Matrix revolutions, the energy clash in the Powerman 5000 video “When worlds collide”, even the fight scenes in Kung Fu Hustle, I knew that bringing the fighting of Dragonball that we all know of could be brought to the big screen. I saw this: I hope the movie does well. I’m not going to see it because I’ve been following the anime since I was a kid and I find it distasteful. This one was definitely made for DVD movie to me, but I hope that many others would go see it so that they have enough support to make a sequel to redeem themselves from this potential flop! Now excuse me while I go outside and kick my puppy!

Just watched the trailer again . . . small cameo or not, how can we have an active role of King Piccolo when Krillin isn’t one of the main characters? Okay, its Dragonball, not DBZ and there are not many people that can fly because not many people know of the Buku technique yet. That I can handle, but like I said before, the fight scenes have to save this movie. Wait, there wasn’t that much high-speed fighting in Dragonball either so; not much flying plus no high speed fighting. . . yep, this movie’s still gonna suck! I can understand Goku not having his tail and even not having the power bow, but if the Flying Nimbus cloud isn’t in the movie, I’m gonna start kicking puppies throughout my neighborhood! Lemme know when it hits Blockbuster so I can rent it!

Was there really a point to block me from the site?(Don’t bother saying that I have no life since I had to go around the block, it took a grand total of 20seconds.) You tell me that it’s not possible for me to tell others to get a life when you say that I do not have one myself. The first time I posted anything on this site was on October 9th, then more than a month later I come back mainly stating stating my opinion on the fact that some people cannot understand simple logic and are trapped in their own little lives.
It’s really impossible to get through to any of you, re-read what I have wrote and understand that the movie will not live up to anyone’s expectations of what a DB movie should be. I come here because it bothers me that some of you are so rampantly defending something so horrible, I have an opinion and that’s all there is to it.
There is no hope for this movie to actually be something worth seeing, sad but true. I don’t want to hear any comments on “fairness” either, those are just misguided.
Avenged, when you have a problem with what someone is saying, it’s better to resolve the situation as best as you can. Nothing wrong with debating over the internet, no matter how much it goes against your own beliefs/values. Think before you just merely ban people.

I just want to start out by saying that i am neither for or against this movie. i do think the trailer looks crap, but i am still going to watch it and not judge the movie until i have seen the finished product.
I think u guys/girls should really calm down. Everyone abusing each other and such, who gives a crap if someone wants to boycott the film. Let them responding to the hateful messages just inspires more hateful messages.
Now i do understand that this movie is not supposed to be the same story as the anime, but i still think that they should not have changed so many key things. Like Goku who is supposed to be around 5 being played by someone around 25. i mean i would understand if it were a 15 yr old because finding a decent 5 yr old actor would be tough but come on. And i also agree with the “where is Krillin, tien etc.”
I think the casting should have been thought out a bit more, i mean WOO HOO Chichi is hot… but she is supposed to be 5 yrs old so its just not right. and Roshi the skinny bald guy is now a large dark haired guy, making not only Goku & Chichi to old, but Roshi to young.
apart from some story/casting flaws i think it will be a rather good “but cliche” americanized version of yet another much loved anime/game/book etc.

ok, if anyone actually watched the original dragon ball series, goku was like 6 or 7 years old through out a good chunk of the series. I mean, i personally think the movie would have been better if they casted a 7 year old kid to do this……. Also, Bulma never used guns… she was a wussy when it came to fighting, she was the one hiding behind a big rock. And what was Yamcha doing with a grenade? I understand casting a martial arts master like Chow Yun Fat, but he had hair, he’s really tall, and I can’t see him sitting in his bathroom reading nude mags……. This movie has the potential to tank if you don’t count the huge fan base this series carries and you know they will all go to the movie and it will make them do fairly well…… welcome to the world we live it, crap movies are blockbuster hits, good movies don’t make it past the cutting room floor…… :’(

Variety has given the report for the domestic premiere of Dragonball Evolution.
Fox’s “Dragonball: Evolution,” managed only No. 8 in its domestic debut, grossing an estimated $4.7 million from 2,181 theaters. Studio had limited expectations for the film, which was narrowly targeted to boys.
This was expected due to the lack of promotion for the film. Box Office Mojo even reports that the film has only made $30,071,834 worldwide so far. Let’s just hope it make enough earnings in theatres to encourage a sequel.
After reading that I suggest that more people(especially ones who want a sequel to this crap) get CAT scans at their local hospitals.
The movie failed because it sucked, not due to lack of promotion.
